Step-by-Step Guide to Effective NOHAJI Application
Regimen(s) That Works
Select the regimen below for which you want detailed instructions. If you are new to the process, choose the Eliminate regimen. If you are in the nail healing phase, select the Protect regimen.
Important Notes Before Starting:
- This treatment requires wearing toe and foot covers for 6-8 hours per session, so perform it before bed or when you can rest without much movement.
- If you've used any topical antifungal recently, wait at least 3 days after your last application to avoid inhibiting the Pythium oligandrum.
- Discard leftovers after 48 hours, as the spores' viability decreases.
- If you notice irritation (e.g., redness, swelling, or worsening infection), stop immediately and seek medical help.
- The procedure described below will be conducted over three consecutive days each month for a total of three months. On the first day, all steps must be completed. On the second and third days, only steps 3 and 4 are required. Please note that each case is different some stubborn cases may require additional treatments.
1. Prepare the Concentrate
Purpose: To create a concentrate and activate the spores.
- Add 500ml of lukewarm bottled water (not exceeding 85°F / 29°C) to the provided measuring cup.
- Mix 6 scoops of NOHAJI powder into the water until dissolved.
- Set aside and let sit for 40 minutes to activate the spores. During this wait go ahead and perform step 2.
2. Trim Nails and File
Purpose: To remove as much infected nail and dead skin as possible, thinning the nail for better penetration of the product
- Shower or bathe to soften the nail.
- Use nail scissors or clippers to carefully trim away as much of the yellow, discolored, or dead nail as possible without causing injury or bleeding.
- Using a nail file, gently file down the infected nail bed to thin it out, focusing on rough or thickened areas (avoid over-filing to prevent damage to healthy tissue).
- Use a scraper or curette to remove dead skin from around and under the nail edges.
3. Prepare Footbath and Soak Feet
Purpose: To soften the nail bed and coat the feet and nails with the Pythium Oligandrum microbes.
- Start with 2-3 liters of bottled water (or boil tap water for 5 minutes to remove chlorine and let it cool).
- Add lukewarm water (not exceeding 85°F / 29°C) to a foot bath, bucket, or any container that can submerge your toes without being overly large.
- Mix 100ml of the NOHAJI concentrate you prepared in step 1 into the water and mix.
- Soak your feet for 20 minutes, occasionally moving them to prevent the microbes from settling at the bottom.
- Remove feet without drying them; place them on a laid-out towel to catch drips.
4. Prepare Toe and Foot Wrap(s)
Purpose: To maintain a moist environment on the infected toenail(s), allowing deep penetration of the Pythium oligandrum microbes.
See video below for how to wrap the toes and foot.
- Leave the wrap on for 6-8 hours (e.g., overnight).
- Keep the concentrate for day 2 and 3 soaks and wraps. Keep it at room temperature.
- After 6-8 hours, carefully remove the foot sock, the toe cover and gauze.
- Allow feet to air dry completely before wearing socks or shoes to reduce moisture that could encourage fungal regrowth.
- It is recommended to not wash feet with soap but a shower is fine.
5. Spray Shoes
Purpose: To introduce Pythium oligandrum into footwear, reducing reinfection risk from contaminated shoes.
- Pour about 100ml of the concentrate into the spray bottle.
- Spray 15-20 pumps liberally inside your shoes (focus on insoles and toe areas).
- Let shoes dry completely before wearing. Note: Use the concentrate within 48 hours for best spore viability.
